We have been trialling a new appointment system since May that gives more same day access.

For urgent queries, please call when we open each day at 8am or by using online access. To book a routine appointment send in an E-consultation to get a response in two working days.

We are aware that there are patients that do not have online access, like children and the elderly, so we encourage families of these patients call the practice and we will make provisions for them.

To register for online services please complete the registration form here and email it to nelondonicb.theheronpractice@nhs.net

Patient Online Services gives you the option to see some of your medical records, order repeat medication and book appointments online using your internet browser or the NHS app.

**Don’t need your appointment any more? Please cancel it so we can offer the appointment to someone else. Thank you**

If you need an interpreter for your appointment please let the receptionist know when you book your appointment.

You can email any non-urgent or administrative queries directly to the practice here and we will endeavour to respond within 2 working days.

Please make sure we know your up to date contact details. You can update them here.

Please call before 10am if you require a home visit. A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

Visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the practice.

Available 8.00am – 6.30pm MONDAY – FRIDAY (excluding bank holidays)

Please call between 12 to 1pm to access these same day emergency appointments.

  1. Phone the surgery and explain to reception that you have an urgent problem
  2. Reception will ask the nature of your problem and can then put you on the Duty Doctor list
  3. The Duty Doctor will contact you within 2 hours or arrange an appointment for you.
  4. The Duty Doctor may arrange:
  • Advice over the phone, text or video
  • An appointment at the surgery or at the pharmacist
  • A home visit if you are housebound and not well
  • A referral to another service

This service offers you quick access to your GP practice, where they know you and have your full medical record. We recommend this service instead of going to A&E at the hospital.
