What will families receive as part of The Hackney Healthy Eating & Obesity Service during the COVID19 pandemic?
· Help and advice on topics including healthy eating, behaviour change, nutrition and wellbeing.
· 1:1 support via video call or telephone (Whilst 1:1 sessions are usually offered only to families of children with SEND, during lockdown this has been more acceptable to families that group sessions)
· Signposting to enjoyable activities that can be done at home such as weekly recipe challenges to develop practical skills and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
· Online exercise classes to encourage participants to become more active and stay active.
We welcome any referrals for children aged 5-19 (25 for SEND) years who are above a healthy weight (>91st centile) and who have either a Hackney postcode, or are registered at a Hackney school or GP (please see referral attached). Alternatively, the family are able to self-refer and can find more details here or call Szilvi on 07849 092 185.
