If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required. There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment may be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations.
We are able to give polio, tetanus, diptheria, typhoid. hepatitis A, meningococcal ACWY and hepatitis B vaccines. We do not charge for these.
We do not offer yellow fever, rabies, japanese encephalitis, tick-borne encephalitis or cholera vaccines. Information regarding clinics which offer these vaccines can be obtained from reception; please note these clinics will make a charge for providing this service.
Tablets for malaria prevention are not available on the NHS therefore you will pay the full cost of these. Some can be bought "over the counter" whilst others require a private prescription. The practice charges for issuing private prescriptions; this is in addition to the cost of the medicine.
